American punk band, Ramones, formed in Queens, New York, in 1974. Each member adopted the surname Ramone, and the band contributed heavily to the 70s punk movement in the US and the UK. They released 14 albums, with Rocket to Russia often being identified as a favourite, and toured heavily for 22 years, In 2002, the Ramones were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and won a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011.
