Woodstock war ein legendäres Musikfestival, das vom 15. bis 18. August 1969 in Bethel, New York, auf Max Yasgurs Farm stattfand. Ursprünglich als „3 Tage Frieden & Musik“ angekündigt, zog es über 400.000 Besucher an und bot legendäre Auftritte von Künstlern wie Jimi Hendrix, The Who und Janis Joplin. Woodstock gilt als Schlüsselereignis der Gegenkulturbewegung und verkörperte die Ideale von Frieden, Liebe und Einheit.
