Nirvana wurde 1987 in Aberdeen, Washington, gegründet und war eine dreiköpfige Hardrock-Band mit den Mitgliedern Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic und Dave Grohl. Die Band ist bis heute eine der einflussreichsten Rockbands, obwohl sie sich nach Kurt Cobains Tod 1994 auflöste. Ihr erstes Album „Bleach“ erschien auf dem Label Sub Pop und etablierte Nirvana als Teil der Grunge-Szene von Seattle. Doch ihr zweites Album „Nevermind“ katapultierte die Band zum kommerziellen Erfolg, gefolgt von ihrem letzten Album „In Utero“. Nirvana wurde 2014 in die Rock and Roll Hall of Fame aufgenommen.
