Iron Maiden wurde 1975 in East London von Bassist Steve Harris gegründet. Die britische Heavy-Metal-Band wurde mit ihren Alben The Number of the Beast, Piece of Mind und Powerslave berühmt. Sänger Bruce Dickinson verließ die Band 1993, und nach seiner Rückkehr 1999 gewann die Band wieder an Popularität. Iron Maidens Maskottchen Eddie ist häufig auf Album- und Merchandise-Artworks sowie bei ihren Live-Auftritten zu sehen. Die Band entwickelte sich zu einer Ikone, beeinflusste viele spätere Bands und wird oft in Liedern und Filmen erwähnt. Iron Maiden hat einen Brit Award, einen Grammy Award, zwei Kerrang! Awards und acht Metal Hammer Awards gewonnen.
